IN ENGLISH
dfm and dfm fiktion are producing feature films, TV productions, commanded films and commercials. The directors, scriptwriters and photographers that we engage, moves between the companies and the different productions. This creates variation for our team and improves the quality of the different productions.
Founded in 2000, the Swedish company digital filmmakers ab (dfm) is based in Stockholm, Sweden. It mainly produces documentary and television programs, as well as corporate films, both in the field of the intern communication and publicity.
dfm's credo is the constant research of quality, as well on the level of content -dfm's producers all have a journalistic formation- as on the level of form and image as we only work with cameramen and cinematographs from cinema.
With a strong French accent in the company (3 of these producers speak Molière's language), dfm also seek co-productions with French companies, as for documentary on Ingmar Bergman's favourite actor, Erland Josephson, directed by Alexandre Barry in 2006 and co-produced on French side by VAB. dfm also helped France5 TV program 25 à table when they made their show in Stockholm. Finally, dfm regularly produces TV programs in French for Swedish educative television UR (coURts de français, cultURe!).
Among the documentary that aired on Swedish television, we can name ”Between heaven and earth”, and ”Arlanda” - a serie in 6 episodes on Stockholm Airport-, both creative documentaries shot in true cinéma-vérité style.
In order to widen its range, dfm founded at the end of 2003 together with Olivier Guerpillon the company dfm fiktion. dfm fiktion develops fiction productions for cinema and television (short and full-length films). dfm fiktion has as the ambition to discover and to accompany a new generation of Swedish authors and to produce demanding and innovating pieces. The company collaborates with young promising authors recognized for their short films, like Ola Simonsson and Johannes Stjärne Nilsson (Music for One Apartment and Six Drummers, Selection Official Cannes 2000), Karolina Jonsson (Snow in November, Official selection Cannes 2003), Sofia Norlin, Jonas Lundberg or Elisabet Gustafsson.
dfm fiktion has also the ambition to develop the co-productions of art-house films between France and Sweden and most of the projects are carried out in partnership with French companies. dfm fiktion has for example been co-producing the second feature film by director Philippe Ramos, CAPTAIN AHAB, partly shot in Sweden during Summer 2006 with a French-Swedish co-financing (in particular ARTE France Cinema, CNC, Rhone-Alpes Cinema, Film i Väst, Swedish Film Institute and SVT). The film was awarded a Silver Leopard in Locarno Film Festival 2007 and is due to be released in January 2008.
